new year, new stitches
2023 Recap:
2023 was kind of a weird year. It felt like I was running on empty most of the time, and motivation was pretty scarce. Despite all the lows, I somehow managed to hit a few milestones, and make a bunch of awesome connections in the community. It's been a bit difficult looking back and reflecting on 2023 when it was such a taxing year. I mean, they're obviously awesome achievements, but it's hard to shake off the overall vibe of the year, you know? Even though it was a rocky ride, those wins are a reminder that even in the midst of a tough year, there were still always some shining moments.
Goals for 2024:
Besides my normal plans to host accessible and affordable local markets, co-work with creative pals and grow this cozy little business, I’ve set some goals for myself in light of the new year:
Monthly
write 2 blog posts
update the shop stock
story sale once a month
make something new
Bi-Monthly
Finish writing a pattern
Yearly
read 12 books
low buy/no buy for yarn and hobby stuff
plan a cool honey moon
use up all my scrap yarn
crochet 4 things for myself
Tips for Setting Goals:
I’ve been using this list of goals to help populate my calendar with little check in points and reminders, and I think that this system is really going to help me stay on top of everything. When you break down these goals into monthly, bi-monthly and yearly ones, its easier to see what you should be planning to do each month, but don’t be afraid to break them down even further into, weekly or daily tasks.
On top of these goals that I’ve listed, I also have some private business goals that I’ve been working on, and though I’m not ready to share those with you here, I have taken steps to make sure that I have accountability traps set up for myself to make sure that I work towards them, even though I don’t have the stress of potentially letting the CB Fam down weighing on me!
Here are some other goal setting tips that have helped me compile my 2024 list:
Tell someone about your goals for added support.
Record your progress to stay motivated.
Acknowledge and celebrate each small achievement.
Be open to adjusting plans when needed.
Surround yourself with supportive people.
Regularly think and reflect about your goals and progress.
See setbacks as opportunities to learn and adjust.
Keep a positive mindset and focus on progress.
Treat yourself when you reach milestones.
To wrap things up, 2023 may have been a bit of a trip but I learned so much about my self-worth, and the ways I do and do not deserve to be treated. I learned a lot about community and made really strong connections. I found the magic of coworking again, after a 3 year long hiatus and I’m going into 2024 hopeful for a way better year!
Thank you all for reading and for always listening to my run on sentences!
